We welcome all members of our learning community to join us in our progressive and dynamic learning space.
Library
Our library aims to help facilitate a love of lifelong learning in all our students. Students are encouraged to explore books across a variety of genres.
We offer an extensive range of Junior Fiction books for our developing readers and a range of Fiction books for our more confident readers. There are numerous ‘Series Books’ as well for students choosing to explore one particular author or character. Students, teachers and families may also access our Non Fiction books for their particular pursuit of knowledge.
Borrowing times
Before school
Students are welcomed into the library for borrowing from 8:15-8:40am every morning. During this time, students are also allowed to complete homework or work on a quiet activity until school commences. Parents do not need to accompany their children at this time.
During school
We have timetabled borrowing sessions for all students during school hours. The library is open to all students from 11 – 11:30 am (first break). Students use this time to draw pictures, read and borrow/return books.
If students would like to return a book after school they are most welcome to pop their books into the ‘Returns’ slot.
Borrowing Rules
All students are required to bring a library bag to keep their book clean and safe from mishaps such as leaking drink bottles.
Prep- 3: Students are allowed a maximum of two books per child for two weeks.
Years 4-6: Students are allowed a maximum of three books per child.
We have a range of Senior Fiction books which are strictly for our year six students. This limit is based on the ‘mature content’ that is contained in these books.
